Wendy was born in Saskatoon and attended school there. She received a Bachelor of Interior Design from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg.

She has worked for the University of Alberta, the University of Saskatchewan, the Government of Alberta in Edmonton, and several interior design & architectural firms before opening her own Interior Design & Fibre Art Studio in Edmonton in 1981 and in Saskatoon in 1985.

A passion for texture, colour and pattern as well as an admiration for Japanese artisans prompted her to import antique Japanese kimono and obi sashes from which she has created many decorative and wearable art forms.

She has taught Interior Design and Applied Design, organized several fundraising events and wrote a booklet entitled How To Make A Banner for the 1989 Jeux Canada Games in Saskatoon. Wendy also offers workshops in interior design and fibre art.
